LEONARDO DICAPRIO: A HOLLYWOOD STAR FIGHTING FOR THE AMAZON

BRASÍLIA, BRAZIL — SEPTEMBER 2, 2026

Leonardo DiCaprio arrived in Brasília not for a movie premiere, a red carpet or another Hollywood celebration.

This time, the Oscar-winning actor came with a different message — one about the future of our planet.

DiCaprio met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and First Lady Janja at the Presidential Palace to discuss the protection of the Amazon rainforest, Indigenous communities, biodiversity and the fight against climate change.

For years, DiCaprio has used his global fame to speak about environmental protection. Through his conservation work, he has supported efforts to protect threatened ecosystems and endangered species.

And now, his message is becoming even bigger.

In August 2026, DiCaprio’s environmental organization Re:wild joined forces with the Bezos Earth Fund for a $200 million initiative aimed at helping save 100 of the world’s most critically endangered species.

Behind the cameras, the awards and the fame, DiCaprio continues to use his voice for something that cannot speak for itself.

The forests. The animals. The oceans. The future.

Hollywood made Leonardo DiCaprio famous.

But today, he is trying to use that fame to protect a world that belongs to everyone.

🌎 “The fight is bigger than a movie. It is about the planet we leave behind.”
