During his chat with\u00a0Us Weekly<\/i>, the actor reflected on the influence stories can have on our lives, both on and off screen, as he spoke about his recent\u00a0ABC<\/i>\u00a0Christmas special.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think storytelling can be healing. It can be informative. It can remind us of who we think we\u2019d like to be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Costner went on to highlight the subtle ways films and stories can inspire audiences.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of times you see great heroism on the screen, sometimes even in the smallest way. And when we see it, we recognize it, and we think to ourselves, I need to be like that.”<\/p>\n
“We know what the opposite is. But sometimes we see things in movies that we wish we would have said that we still can,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the actor spoke openly about his latest return to the screen.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, it\u2019s the first Christmas, it\u2019s the birth of Christ \u2026 I grew up in the church,\u201d the actor added.<\/p>\n
